Guided by Ferran Falcó Isern, director of the Consorci del Besòs, the visit revealed the progress of this project, which will rehabilitate the area of les Tres Xemeneies in Sant Adrià del Besòs, along with annexed spaces and the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya in Terrassa, creating an innovation hub with cutting-edge infrastructures.
The Tres Xemeneies, built between 1881 and 1912 as part of the La Canadenca thermal power plant, are a symbol of Barcelona’s industrial heritage, the setting of the 1919 strike that achieved the eight-hour workday, and today listed as a Cultural Asset of Local Interest (Barcelona Turisme)
The rehabilitation of the Nau Turbines, led by Garcés – de Seta – Bonet Arquitectes and the New York studio Marvel Architects, known for projects such as the renovation of the Bronx Museum, promises a sustainable and functional design, as highlighted in the Immersió Estratègica.
